Music Workshop is a unique Music School and Store in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. We offer individual music lessons and group classes, plus instrument sales and service. We have numerous programs for all ages! For guitars, drums, hand drums, keyboards, books, accessories and more it's all here!
Children:
RhythmPlay and RhythmSection are based on 30+ years of drumming experience and 10 years of development in local schools. This course offers a rhythmic foundation for lifelong music making. Kids feel successful instantly with specially chosen instruments; Djembe, Conga, Mallets, Marimba, Drum Set and more!
We run two classes on Wednesdays for kids.

RhythmPlay (6-9 years)
Kids classes use African hand and stick drums, Orff marimbas, xylophones and metallophones plus hand percussion and voice.
Starts again in September, 2010
6:00-6:30pm for 10 weeks. $160.00
RhythmSection (10-14 years)
Starts again in September, 2010
6:45-7:30 pm for 10 weeks. $180.00
Instrument purchase is not necessary but we can recommend a small drum and take home materials.
Adults/Teens
These are all very affordable classes which help you to instantly build practical, musical skills that will make you a better musician regardless of which instruments you play.
Hands On Drumming I
Beginners class Mondays 6:30 to 8 pm.
Monday students learn conga and djembe.
Still room for Adult (or teen) beginners in this class.
Hands On Drumming II
Intermediate class Tues. 6:30-8 pm.
Tuesday students learn djembe and African bass drums with a bell attached. (Great training for drumset, bass and piano players!)
Beat-Makers Camp is for any music student, or individuals curious about modern music-making and technology without an instrumental background. Our seasoned Beat-Masters will hone the skills of experienced Beat-Makers or get absolute beginners off to a flying start.

Ultimate Rock Camp is for singers, guitarists, pianists, bass players, keyboardists, drummers and percussionists. Your Band – Your Sound – Your Destiny!
These camps use material from cover tunes to original music to get their Rock show together. Rock Campers come by the shop for a short assessment. Those with more experience are grouped with more advanced band members. Read the rest of this entry »
It’s true! After months of planning we are bringing Bakka back to Thunder Bay!!
Bakka will be our Artist-In-Residence from May 17-22nd 2010. We will offer 5 Hand Drum Classes plus 5 African Dance Classes. We will create a final community performance for Saturday May 22nd. You can do all 10 classes for only $198.00!!

Recently Sean provided a musical Keynote Address at the Forum North 2009 Conference in Thunder Bay. This involved instruments and a musical team-building session prepared for 350 people!
